Mr James Wong, CEO of ZWIE, comes from a family with a long tradition in education. His forebears donated funds to establish schools and dedicated themselves to pioneering modern education in China. His maternal great-grandfather, Professor Wu Shangshi, was a renowned geographer of modern China who served as Professor and Head of the Department of Geography at Sun Yat-sen University. Professor Wu's educational philosophy of integrating East and West Education, together with his deep love for his country, profoundly influenced later generations of the family, many of whom have devoted their careers to education. Nurtured by this family heritage, Mr James Wong has always held a strong aspiration to contribute to education.

In 2003, seizing the opportunities created by the national policies supporting private education, Mr James Wong was entrusted by his family to return from Hong Kong to Guangzhou to pursue a career in education. Operating under a twin-headquarters model in Hong Kong and Guangzhou, the Group has been exploring holistic education that integrates East and West traditions for the new era, drawing on educational wisdom from around the world to nurture future leaders of the Chinese nation.
